GTA IV (X360) Review
What can I say about GTA IV that hasn’t already been said by people more qualified than me to speak on the topic? Put simply, I play GTA differently. I’ve never finished a GTA campaign, nor do I have any real want or need to do so, I’m more interested in running around the city firing rockets into the backs of the heads of unsuspecting citizens and stealing choppers.

To put it in clear, plain and concise English this game is the bomb online. It takes everything good about the GTA experience and adds the variable of human players making the replayability of this game extraordinarily high just based purely on how different each game you play is. Offline the campaign is more of the same, Rags to Riches. I can’t say I’ve been able to connect with any of GTA’s protagonists and GTA IV’s Russian Niko is no different really.
I haven’t gotten far into the campaign (approx 14% according to the stats) but from what I have seen I’ve played this game before wit h familiar taxi type missions, hits and other assorted thuggery. Only this game seems lighter on the humor that its predecessors (GTA III Vice City being my favorite) had.
Your hard earned cash hasn’t been spent on a particularly ground breaking Single Player Campaign, instead your money has paid for an awesome online experience allowing you to have full on action movie moments with major skirmishes in the city, car chases through busy streets, chases on foot through the back alleys and roof tops of Liberty City and insane stunts, jumps and explosions to rival any seen in Bond movies. There are only two draw backs. One, the networking seems a little shitty, I have friends that simply cannot get into games and Two; there is no replay function. A game this jam packed with the potential for so many cool things to happen (and believe me I’ve seen a few) really should have some sort of replay functionality. Something like bungie did with Halo 3 and Bungie.net would have been nice. But alas!
If you’re looking for a change from the ol’ First Person Shooter online action, then chuck this bad boy in and start dominating in Liberty City and you won’t be disappointed.
